Club Foundation: May 1st 1939
Sports and cultural groups are part of Marinhense history, integrated into a wave of associative actions that ran through the 19th century in Portugal.
The "Os Vidreiros" Sports Group was officially founded on May 1, 1939, with soccer as its main activity and the colors of its kit – red and white.
Based in the parish of Picassinos, the club's first facilities were located at the 1st of May Instruction and Recreation Society, known as the 1st of May Sports Group. However, it is possible that the origins of "Os Vidreiros" G.D. date back to 1937, when the names of Joaquim Alberto Gentil and the Basílio da Tojeira family of Picassinos were associated.
Initially, Os Vidreiros played on a field called the 1st of May Stadium, equipped with wooden bleachers, located on Mariana Barosa Street. Their headquarters were located in a rented house belonging to Rodolfo Dinis Alves, on the same street. The team would even compete in the São Paulo Football Championship before suspending its activities in 1942.
